NONE KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT "COPPEDE' AREA"

East of Villa Borghese and steps away from V.Le regina Margherita stands the fairytale-like COPPEDE' neighborhood, consisting of a dozen roads designed with a playful juxtaposition of Gothic, Baroque, and Neo-Classical elements, and a touch of Art Nuveau, an architectural combination known as Eclectic style.
Designed in 1920 s by Gino Coppede', the 18 apartment buildings and 27 small villas are heavily decorated with friezes, mosaicos and frescos, and are arranged in ways that in some spots recall the impossible architectures of M.C.Escher.
The angels, monks, animal faces, gryphons and even flowers and blades of grass seem to come alive and spy on you as you walk, and exaggerated decorations are designed to surprise and disorient the onlooker by combining imagination and reality.
Originally conceived for the various ambassador living in Rome, the mini villas are as gorgeousn inside as they are outside, with wooden floors, maiolica, ceramics for the kitchens, and Pompeii-inspired mosaics in the bathroom.
The enchanted atmosphere is further enhanced by the suggestive names given to the various buildings: there are several Houses of Faires and Houses of the Spider, decoarated with a large spider above the entrance.
The atmosphere is particularly charming ( although a bit disqieting) at night.....usually chosen as a set for Horror moovies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When you are done exploring the Coppedè district, head  towards the fashionable shopping area of Via Po. As you cross Piazza Buenos Aires, keep your eyes open for PIZZA IN PIAZZA ( Buenos Aires sq. number 7) a local favorite serving a delicious pizza!!!!!
You should visit Coppedè!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. I can´t spend more than a week without pizza. It is one of my favourite dishes so I´m certainly gonna try EVO when I go to LA. Now let me tell you there is one country in which you will find the bepizzas: Argentina. The majority of Argentines claim Italian ancestry, significantly more than Spanish, which is why you’ll find fresh pasta outlets on every other block and pizzerias everywhere. But if you are looking for an authentic thin crust Roman pie, I’m afraid you are going to be disappointed. In Buenos Aires, pizzas are bready, smothered in an inch of cheese and loaded with toppings. When I went there I got an apartment in buenos aires and all of them were close to a pizza place!
